Confined Space Entry Training (Entrant, Attendant & Standby) in Saudi Arabia
Confined space entry training for the people who go into, watch over and control entry to tanks, vessels, pits, sumps, culverts and ducts on Saudi plant, refinery and shutdown sites. The course covers the entrant, attendant and standby roles, permit to work, atmospheric testing, ventilation and rescue awareness, with content aligned to the scheme your client or site requires.
Scope of Work
- ✓Recognising confined and permit-required spaces: tanks, vessels, boilers, pits, sumps, culverts, manholes, silos and ducts, and what makes a space hazardous even when it looks open
- ✓Hazards inside the space: oxygen deficiency and enrichment, flammable and toxic gas, engulfment, heat stress in summer conditions, and mechanical or electrical energy
- ✓Isolation and preparation: blinding or blanking, double block and bleed, lockout and tagout, cleaning, purging and natural or forced ventilation
- ✓Defined roles: entrant, attendant (hole watch), standby person, entry supervisor and permit issuer, and what each may and may not do
- ✓Permit to work and atmospheric testing: how entry depends on O2, LEL, H2S and CO results, continuous monitoring, and entry and exit criteria taken from the site procedure
- ✓Communication, emergency and rescue awareness: raising the alarm, retrieval equipment, non-entry rescue where the space allows it, and why untrained rescuers must never enter
- ✓Respiratory protection and PPE awareness, including why filtering respirators are not used in oxygen-deficient atmospheres, with a practical entry exercise and a written assessment

FAQs
Is your confined space course recognised by TVTC and Saudi Aramco?+
Recognition of a training certificate is decided by the client, the project or the regulator, not by the training provider, and the scheme changes. Certificates used in the Kingdom need to satisfy the requirements that apply to them, including TVTC where it applies. The content is built around permit-required confined space practice and requirements such as the Saudi Aramco General Instructions where your project applies them. Ask us for the current approval status and reference for the course before you book, and tell us which scheme your site accepts.
What is the difference between an entrant, an attendant and a standby person?+
The entrant goes into the space. The attendant stays at the entry point, keeps count of who is inside and communicates with them. The standby person is ready to summon rescue without entering. Role names and duties differ between client schemes, and some sites combine attendant and standby, so we teach them to the scheme you work under.
Can you run the course at our site or shutdown yard in Jubail or Ras Tanura?+
Yes. Training can run in our centre or at your site, scheduled around shifts or a turnaround. A mock confined space or a representative site entry makes the practical part more realistic, so tell us what is available and how many people need training when you enquire.
Does the course teach gas testing and rescue?+
It teaches how entry depends on gas test results and how to read and act on them. Competence to carry out the test with a portable detector and sign the record is covered by our Authorized Gas Tester training. The rescue content is awareness: raising the alarm, retrieval and non-entry rescue. Training to work as a rescue team member, including breathing apparatus, is a separate and more demanding course, so tell us if your site needs an emergency rescue team and we will say whether we can provide it.
